South East Queensland Wine can surprise you, Organic South East Queensland Wine even more so.
Our little vineyard is situated 5kms out of Nanango at 450m elevation on semi-fertile soil.
What is the difference between organic and non-organic wine?
In the vineyard:
Tons of carbon and nutrients have been incorporated into the soil with certified organic fertiliser and organic mulches. No herbicides or pesticides are used.
In the winery:
Simplistic wine making. We are part of the natural wine-making movement. This essentially means minimal or no filtering. Wild fermentation is implemented with the red wines. This means a 6 day ferment where 5 or 6 different wild yeasts are involved. The difference is remarkable. No fining added. (Vegan friendly). No oak either.
In most cases we do not use preservatives. This of course means young wine to be enjoyed within twelve to eighteen months. Our Verdelho is made in the cold room and must be kept refrigerated.
Our wine reflects our belief in a small, clean, local food production system.
Taste the best organic wine Australia has to offer.
